When you have started to think about your present work and what you would like to do instead, I offer a number of small or larger packages within Career coaching. One of these packages, which many clients choose to start with, is called ”The Career Key” – simply because it is a key to a new start, or a restart, of your career!
In this situation you might want to reflect over your total situation, namely both professionally and privately. In your professional life you might have a need to reach a conclusion about which job roles that suit you the best and what the road forward should look like. In your private life you might want to think about how you want your total life to be, for example the work-life balance.
For some people it is not even a question to continue with the same speed and escalate it, rather a question of slowing down! Regardless of where you have your focus, it is very valuable to have an external counterpart and a professional coach to talk to and get new and objective perspectives as well as concrete help and advice.
The starting point for “The Career Key” is the two analysis you do on-line before our first session and the feedback you get on the results. The analysis and the feedback give you the basis and the opportunity for a dialogue and reflection about yourself, your strengths and challenges, the present role and situation as well as thoughts and ideas about the future.
After this initial analysis the next step could be making a strategy forward, i.e. which ways forward are at hand, which one(s) should you choose, how do you ”package” yourself for the different roles and how do you market yourself to your networks, to search companies and/or to potential employers? A lot of questions that need a lot of answers and decisions – and as your coach I will help you with it!
The process
To simplify, the process in ”The Career Key” consists of three steps;
- Inwards – with the help of the initial analysis and the feedback you get, you will get a quick start and help to reflect “inwards”, into yourself and your strengths and challenges.
- Outwards – based on your conclusions in step one, you start to reflect ”outwards”, i.e. given your insights about strengths and challenges, what are the best and possible alternatives going forward?
- Forward – when you have chosen one or several alternatives in step two, I support you to make a strategy and an action plan forward and “package” yourself in terms of designing and adapting “your story”, your CV, the personal letter, the Linked-in profile etc. accordingly.
In the first session you get feedback on the result of the analysis you have done on-line and an opportunity to think and reflect about your present role, your strengths and challenges. You also get a number of reports and other valuable and useful information to take home with you. I conduct a structured dialogue with you in order to sort out your needs, expectations and goals with the coaching. The coaching hours included can be distributed as you like between the three steps mentioned above and the time in, and between sessions, is also flexible.
Between the sessions you work on your own with different tasks and I am available for unlimited, short, interactions via mail, sms or telephone. The coaching sessions can cover everything from talking about your own history and development to concrete advice and tips about how to write a modern, good CV, design your Linked-in profile, interview training etc. The content and extent is based totally on your needs and priorities!
